The khateeb compared faith that only looks good on the outside to artificial flowers: it has decoration but lacks living growth. He reminded us that growing closer to Allah takes effort, including putting aside our pride and loosening our attachment to material things. Remembering that each of us will answer for our own deeds should shape how we treat people, including through small acts of kindness. He encouraged us to read the Quran for guidance, understand its teachings, and begin following them now with the translations we have. He also invited us to slow down and notice Allah’s creation, so that familiar sights become opportunities for thoughtful faith and gratitude.

  1. What small act of kindness could you do tomorrow, and who might it help?
  2. What Quran teaching could our family practice together this week?
  3. What is something in Allah’s creation you see every day but rarely stop to notice?
