For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that making dua for another person is a beautiful sign of love and trust. We can remember people who are absent, especially when we are in blessed places or times, and ask Allah to give them goodness. The khateeb also taught that every person has value, even someone others overlook, because we do not know who is especially beloved to Allah. Our family can grow closer by praying for one another, showing respect, and caring about each person.

  1. Who could we remember in our duas tonight, and what goodness could we ask Allah to give them?
  2. How can we show respect to someone whom other people often overlook?
  3. What makes praying for another person an act of love?
