For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah focused on a hadith about the beliefs that lead a person toward Paradise. It taught that Allah alone deserves worship and warned against asking saints or other created beings for what only Allah can give. It also taught that Muhammad is Allah’s servant and messenger, so Muslims follow his Sunnah to learn how to pray and practice Islam. The sermon described Isa as Allah’s servant and messenger, created by Allah, not part of Allah. Finally, it reminded us that Paradise and the Fire are real, and that tawhid brings hope while sins remain serious.
