For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that children are gifts and trusts from Allah, not possessions, so parents are responsible for both their needs and emotional security. The Prophet showed love openly, and Yaqub continued caring for his sons even after their terrible wrongdoing. We should correct children without turning discipline into revenge, and we should keep reaching out as they grow older. The imam urged parents to say loving words now, while children can still hear them. He also explained that prayers, charity, and lasting good deeds are meaningful ways to benefit loved ones who have died.

  1. What makes you feel loved at home?
  2. How can someone correct a mistake without being cruel?
  3. What loving words could we say to someone in our family this week?
