For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that the world’s order points us back to Allah, and that life will eventually bring us to meet Him. The Prophet Muhammad was commanded to deliver Islam clearly and mercifully, even when people resisted. We should not choose only the parts of Islam that feel easy; we should hold onto our obligations in every circumstance. Prayer, Jumu'ah, modesty, honoring parents, and other obligations are opportunities to grow a real connection with Allah, not just tasks to complete.

  1. What obligation helps you feel closest to Allah, and why?
  2. What makes it hard to practice consistently, and what small step could help?
  3. How can learning about nature remind us of Allah?
