For the dinner table

Today’s message reminded us that life is a test and that Allah gives us guidance through the Qur’an and the example of the Prophet. We were urged to slow down, think before acting, and choose humility over pride, accepting truth wherever it comes from. A believer should care for people, welcome newcomers, support those in hardship, and treat the community’s pain as shared. The khutbah especially called us to repair broken relationships and ask forgiveness before time runs out. Our everyday manners, especially a smile and a helping hand, can show others what Islam teaches.

  1. Who could you welcome or encourage this week?
  2. What is one situation where you should slow down before responding?
  3. How can our family show care for someone facing hardship?
