For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that gratitude means remembering Allah, the giver, as well as enjoying His gifts. We show thanks with our words, our hearts, and the way we use our blessings to do good. Being grateful does not mean hiding a hard day; we can still share our struggles with people who care about us. The khateeb encouraged us to notice the care our families give us and to welcome friends who kindly help us see what we miss. He also invited us to respond to other people's suffering by seeing the opportunities Allah gives us to help.

  1. What is one ordinary blessing you noticed today, and how could you use it to do good?
  2. What did someone in our family do today that you would like to thank them for?
