Prepare now for your reckoning

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that we all have worries about daily life, but we also need to prepare for the day we meet Allah. He asked us to think about how we use the gifts Allah has given us, including our eyes, our words, our wealth, and our time. We can use these gifts to read Quran, speak kindly, help others, and treat our families well. When we make mistakes, we should ask Allah for forgiveness and remember His mercy. Through Bilal’s example of praying after wudu, the khutbah encouraged us to make room for regular worship and good deeds today.

  1. How could your words help two people get along this week?
  2. What is one gift Allah has given you that you could use to help someone?
  3. What small act of worship could we practice regularly as a family?
