Build a legacy through service
“Legacy is not about having followers.”
In one sentence
A meaningful Muslim legacy is built by using one's God-given skills in sincere service to people rather than chasing fame, money, or passive entertainment.

Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“Legacy is not about having followers. It's about how many people you help. It's how many lives you touch. It's what values you bring to society and what values you stand for.”
“Use whatever good that you have to benefit the deen, to benefit the society.”
“Small steps build legacies. Small steps. But we need to plan. What are we going to do? How are people going to remember us after we die?”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Today’s khutbah invited us to think about the good we leave in other people’s lives. The khateeb asked whether our neighbors and community would miss the help we offer if we were gone. He reminded us that we serve to please Allah, and that a legacy comes from helping people rather than collecting followers or praise. Whatever our age, we can use our abilities, learn new skills, and make time to contribute. Small, sincere actions, like tutoring someone, helping an elder with groceries, or volunteering at the masjid, can build a lasting legacy.
- What is something you enjoy doing that could help someone else?
- Who could we help this week through one of the small deeds mentioned in the khutbah?
- What could you make time for by spending a little less time scrolling?
