Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah says that Ihram removes our usual clothes, status, routines, and distractions so we remember that we are servants of Allah. Tears or a powerful spiritual feeling are gifts, not the measure of accepted worship. We should worship because Allah deserves it, make dua with confidence while trusting His timing, and live Labbayk by being ready to serve. That service begins with parents and extends to spouses, children, and the wider community. When we return to normal clothes, jobs, and titles, the real test is whether the humility and service of Ihram come home with us.

  2. What is one way our family can serve someone else this week?
  3. Which worldly priority could we place below serving Allah?
