For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that food is a blessing from Allah and that many people suffer because they do not have enough of it. We should notice that suffering, feel compassion, and respond by sharing, avoiding waste, and eating with gratitude and moderation. The second khutbah teaches that time is also a precious trust that cannot be recovered. Success comes through faith, good deeds, truth, patience, and helping one another stay on that path. As a family, we can practice gratitude, protect our time, and look for ways to support people in need.

  1. What is one way we can share food or reduce waste this week?
  2. When did someone help you stay patient or do the right thing?
  3. What is one part of your time you would like to use more wisely?
