For the dinner table

The khateeb asked us to reflect on where we are going and how we are moving toward Allah. He explained that reminders of the Day of Judgment should awaken hope, motivation, and a desire to prepare. School, work, and family goals matter, but we should give special urgency to good deeds and our relationship with Allah. Fleeing to Allah means turning toward Him for safety, repenting without delay, and taking that relationship seriously. We can practice this by learning more about our faith, remembering Allah, serving others, and thanking Him for the opportunity to do good.
