For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah used the death of a young Qur’an memorizer, Asif, to remind us that death comes by Allah’s decree and that our lives should not be organized around comfort and possessions. We were urged to ask what we will leave behind, especially through ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and children who pray for us. Small, consistent acts, teaching good character, spending time with children, and remembering Allah, can shape a lasting legacy. We should cherish parents, spouses, children, siblings, and friends while we still have them. After Jumu'ah, the speaker asked us to show gratitude through a hug or a sincere message.

  1. What small good habit would you like people to remember you for?
  2. Who can we thank or hug today, and what would we say?
  3. How can our family turn one piece of beneficial knowledge into action this week?
