For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that justice, or adl, is a central Islamic value that should protect people of every faith and background. He warned that Bill C-9, in his view, could threaten religious freedom in Canada, and he urged the community to speak with officials and defend principled civic rights. He connected this responsibility to the suffering of Muslims and other minorities around the world, including people in Gaza and the West Bank. He encouraged listeners to learn from community organizations, join their email and social channels, and support their work. He ended by asking Allah to forgive us and bring peace to Palestine, Sudan, Yemen, Kashmir, and the Middle East.
