Death & the hereafterFrom the masjid's own video, Jan 3, 2026.

Every moment prepares us for judgment

“We're going to be judged on the day of judgment.”

The khateeb, at 13:02

In one sentence

Because worldly life is brief, uncertain, and guaranteed to end in judgment, believers should treat every moment as a trust and prepare diligently for the Akhirah.

For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that life can feel long while we are living it, but it will look very short when we stand before Allah. Since death and judgment are certain, our time is a trust, and our daily choices are either preparing us for the Akhirah or becoming a loss. The speaker encouraged us to live like travelers: care for what Allah has given us, but do not treat this world as our permanent home. Comfort and hardship both pass, so we should meet each with sincerity, patience, and trust in Allah. Most importantly, we can choose to prepare now, before our time ends.

  1. What is one thing you did today that could count as preparation for the Akhirah?
  2. What does it mean to be a traveler in this world?
  3. How can our family use our time more wisely this week?
