For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that everything we have, our time, health, strength, abilities, and money, is a gift from Allah. We should use those gifts first to build our Hereafter, while still enjoying a reasonable and lawful life in this world. The speaker encouraged us to practice ihsan, or beautiful excellence, by going beyond the minimum in how we treat others. We should keep our prayers and intentions in order and never use our blessings to create corruption or injustice. This week, we can choose one blessing and turn it into an act of worship.

  1. Which blessing do you have that you could use more intentionally for Allah?
  2. How does praying on time change the way you organize your day?
  3. What is one way to go beyond the minimum in treating someone kindly?
