For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us to approach Allah with humility and certainty, remembering how much we need Him. He taught us to begin du'a by praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Prophet, then to ask sincerely and clearly. He explained that Allah may grant what we ask, preserve our supplication for the hereafter, or use it to protect us from harm. When we do not see the result we hoped for, we should remain patient and trust Allah's knowledge of what is best for us. He also encouraged us to pray for life and good health to reach Ramadan and to help the masjid provide iftar if we can.

  1. What would you like to praise or thank Allah for before making du'a tonight?
  2. What helps you stay patient when you are waiting for something you really want?
  3. How could our family help with iftar at the masjid this Ramadan?
