For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah told the story of Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl, a man in pre-Islamic Mecca who worshiped Allah alone even when almost everyone around him followed idols. He rejected meat dedicated to other than Allah, protected baby girls from being buried alive, and searched for the truth. The khateeb reminded us that truth does not become false just because many people reject it. We should turn to Allah sincerely, especially in private sujood, and let our love for Him appear in our prayers, actions, and daily dealings. The message is to keep seeking guidance and stand by what is right with patience.

  3. How can your love for Allah show up in one daily action?
