Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that working for justice begins with a strong relationship with Allah. Through Musa’s mission to Pharaoh, we learn to combine prayer, remembrance, good character, wise speech, teamwork, and courageous action. We should not hide from public responsibility, but our efforts should be guided by mercy, patience, humility, and trust that Allah controls the final results. At home and in the masjid, we can practice justice by listening, treating people well, forgiving, cooperating, and speaking against violence. We can keep helping oppressed people while asking Allah for guidance and strength.

  1. What is one small act of good manners you can practice this week?
  2. How can we speak up for what is right while still showing mercy?
