Use your gifts to serve Allah

“Every single one of us has a one-on-one with the Lord of all of the worlds.”

The khateeb, at 27:01

In one sentence

Human beings carry a sacred trust from Allah, so fulfillment comes from intentionally using their guidance, abilities, resources, and relationships in His service while preparing to account for them before Him.

For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that our lives are not just a race from one achievement to the next. Allah has given us a sacred trust: to use our knowledge, health, abilities, resources, and relationships in ways that honor Him and bring good to the earth. Our families are part of this responsibility, so we can support one another rather than treating family life as a burden or entitlement. One day, each of us will stand before Allah and read the record of what we did with these gifts. This week, we can pause before important choices and ask whether they help us fulfill the trust or give Shaytan more power over us.

  1. What resource or ability has Allah given you that you can use to help others?
  2. What would you want your book of deeds to show about this week?
  3. How can our family support one another in fulfilling the trust?
