Prepare for Allah's seasons of reward

“You do a good action for the sake of Allah and Allah will give you a maximum amount of rewards.”

The khateeb, at 4:17

In one sentence

Allah offers recurring spiritual opportunities, annual seasons and daily moments of heightened reward or ease, and believers should prepare seriously by gaining knowledge, motivation, and faith to seize them.

The khutbah in 6 steps

  2. Recasts Allah’s special reward periods as spiritual “sales,” using the hadith of blessed winds.
  3. Distinguishes annual high-reward seasons from easier recurring opportunities such as winter and tahajjud.

For the dinner table

The khateeb used Black Friday shopping as an analogy for approaching opportunities to grow closer to Allah with eagerness and preparation. He described special seasons such as Ramadan, when worship brings greater reward, and circumstances such as winter, when shorter days and longer nights can make fasting and night prayer easier. He encouraged us to build good habits before Ramadan, plan our worship, arrive early, and gather at the masjid to seek Allah’s mercy. He explained that knowledge, motivation, and faith help us respond to these opportunities. As a family, we can begin with small steps, ask Allah to strengthen our connection with Him, and bring our questions to knowledgeable scholars instead of hiding them.

  1. What is something you look forward to, and how could you prepare for Ramadan with similar excitement?
  2. When could you find a quiet moment to make dua or read a little Quran?
  3. What small act of worship could we help each other practice this week?
