Palestine and Kashmir demand steadfast action
“Not giving up mentally is the first path toward transformation.”
Palestine and Kashmir are connected wounds of a shared colonial legacy, and Muslims should respond through historical understanding, boycotts, organized support, and steadfast action rather than despair.

In the khateeb's words
“If one part of it feels pain, then the rest of the body needs to attend to it.”
“people who don't know their history will not know how to deal with their present nor shape their future.”
“Your financial resources are your power. You need to act upon it.”
“Giving up mentally is the first path toward defeat. Not giving up mentally is the first path toward transformation.”
For the dinner table
Today's khutbah connected the suffering of Palestine and Kashmir, saying both have been shaped by occupation, division, and the denial of self-determination. It reminded us that Muslims should care when any part of the community is hurting. We were urged to learn and teach this history, make thoughtful boycotts, support medical and educational efforts, and join constructive groups. The message also asked us not to give up mentally, because hope and steady action can help create change. We can carry that responsibility with compassion, courage, and faith.
- What is one story from our community's history you would like to learn more about?
- What is one helpful action our family could take together this week?
- What does staying hopeful look like when a problem feels very big?
