For the dinner table

The khateeb described Al-Isra’ wal-Mi’raj, the Prophet Muhammad’s night journey and ascension, as a miracle beyond our ordinary limits of time and space. He connected the journey to the Prophet’s grief after losing Khadija and his uncle Abu Talib, reminding us to keep hoping in Allah’s mercy during hardship. He explained that our own journey toward Allah begins with tawbah: asking forgiveness and seeking a fresh start. He also connected wudu with cleansing ourselves from sins. The khutbah highlighted three gifts from the journey, prayer, the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, and Allah’s promise of forgiveness, and encouraged us to treasure prayer as a way to draw closer to Allah.
