True servants of Allah live with humility
“If you are a true servant of Allah you have to be humble.”
The khutbah calls Muslims to re-evaluate themselves against the qualities of Allah’s true servants in Surah al-Furqan: humility, peacefulness, worship, moderation, moral restraint, repentance, and commitment to the Quran and Sunnah.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- Re-evaluate oneself through Surah al-Furqan’s description of the servants of Allah.
- Practice humility and respond to ignorant speech with peace.
- Establish night prayer and fear Allah’s punishment.
- Spend moderately, share surplus, and avoid associating partners with Allah.
- Avoid killing and adultery, then repent sincerely and follow repentance with good deeds.
- Hold firmly to the Quran and Sunnah, persevere, pray, and listen attentively to the khutbah.
In the khateeb's words
“If you are a true servant of Allah you have to be humble”
“Our attitude should be peace Our environment should be peaceful”
“If you are making more than you can eat More than you can spend for your body It is not your money again”
“i'm leaving for you two things two two things if you hold tight on those two you will never get lost”
For the dinner table
The khutbah asks us to look honestly at whether our lives reflect the qualities of Allah’s true servants. We should be humble, peaceful, devoted in worship, and careful not to waste what Allah gives us. We should avoid serious sins, turn back to Allah when we make mistakes, and repair our actions with good deeds. The Quran and the Prophet’s Sunnah should guide our choices, especially when the world feels confusing. We should also respect the Friday khutbah by listening attentively.
- What is one humble action you could practice this week?
- How can we bring more peace into our home when someone is upset?
- What is one way our family could share more or waste less?
