Make the afterlife your central concern

“When you sin, just run back to the good deeds.”

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that revelation gives us a clearer way to recognize real success. Wealth and comfort are not wrong, but they should not become our master or our greatest worry. Making the Akhira our priority includes prayer and Qur’an, as well as kindness to parents and neighbors, honest work, good manners, and removing harm. The khateeb encouraged us to use wisdom by understanding why guidance matters and how to apply it without neglecting our responsibilities. Because faith rises and falls, we should keep returning to Allah and follow our mistakes with good deeds throughout our lives.

  1. What is one thing people call “success” that might not be true success with Allah?
  2. Which branch of faith could you practice at home or school this week?
  3. What good deed helps your heart recover after you make a mistake?
