Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that this life is temporary, while the hereafter is our lasting home. It warned that loving money, work, comfort, and desires so much that we neglect prayer or fall into sin can weaken our faith. Islam does not ask us to abandon lawful blessings, but to use them for Allah and keep the hereafter first in our hearts. This week, we can protect our prayers, remember meeting Allah, and turn some of what we love toward righteous deeds.

  1. What worldly distraction makes it hardest for you to remember Allah?
  2. How can we use something we enjoy to help someone else?
  3. What is one prayer or good deed we can protect this week?
