Love of the material world breeds sin

Attachment to and infatuation with the dunya (material world) is the root disease behind ingratitude, transgression, boycott, and hatred among people and nations, and the cure is to work in this world for the akhirah and to ask Allah for good in both worlds.

The khutbah in 8 steps
