For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that the Quran is meant to guide our whole lives, not just be read from Ramadan to Ramadan. Our eyes and the world around us can make a situation look hopeless, but the stories of Musa and Noah show that Allah’s guidance reveals a deeper truth. We were encouraged to reflect on the Quran, trust Allah during loss or uncertainty, and follow the Prophet’s example. Death is an unscheduled meeting with our Lord, so we should use our time for prayer, charity, good deeds, and strengthening our families’ Islamic identity. This week, we can ask whether our choices are shaped more by the Quran or by the culture around us.

  1. What is one situation where our first impression might not show the whole truth?
  2. What Quran, prayer, charity, or family action can you take this week?
  3. How can we help one another remember Allah and the life after death?
