For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that strong families help build strong communities. He encouraged us to avoid anger by trying to understand each other's feelings and circumstances. Elders can make advice easier to receive by answering clearly and welcoming questions, while young people can listen with respect and appreciate their elders' experience and care. He also reminded us to make dedicated time for family, putting away distractions and giving one another our full attention. Caring for our families with time, effort, and money can be worship and a way to seek Allah's reward.
