The khutbah reminds us that this life is temporary and is a preparation for the hereafter. Because our time is short, we should hurry toward prayer, charity, service, and other good deeds. The Prophet and the companions, especially Abu Bakr, showed this urgency through fasting, helping people, visiting the sick, and pursuing every path to Allah. Even guiding one person to Islam or gathering several kinds of good can lead to great reward. As a family, we can choose one good deed and do it promptly instead of waiting.
