For the dinner table

The khutbah presents the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah as a special gift from Allah and a chance to renew our relationship with Him. We are encouraged to plan extra worship: fast when able, especially the Day of Arafah, attend congregational prayer, pray sunnah and night prayers, and remember Allah often. We should also honor parents, care for children by teaching them the Quran and bringing them to the masjid, and keep family ties strong. Charity and supporting useful masjid work are also ways to seek reward. The goal is sincere, consistent worship done for Allah, not for people's approval.
