For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that Allah gives us more blessings than we can count, and even one gift, like hearing or sight, benefits us in countless ways. The khateeb shared how being without water and noticing changes in his own hearing and eyesight helped him appreciate gifts he had taken for granted. He explained that shukr, or gratitude, includes following Allah’s guidance and putting our thanks into action with sincere intentions. He also spoke about asking Allah to help us do good, bless our children with righteousness, and grant us His mercy. As a family, we can notice our blessings, use them well, and encourage one another to keep doing what is right when it is difficult.
