The Quran guides every generation
“There is one miracle that till today and for those who come after us, they will continue to benefit from it.”
The Qur'an is the enduring miracle of Prophet Muhammad, offering every generation guidance toward trust in Allah, perseverance through hardship, and compassionate action.
The khutbah in 5 steps
- Humans reasonably demand proof for life-changing claims, and prophets were sent with miracles confirming their messages.
- Earlier prophetic miracles and the Prophet Muhammad's miracles were witnessed by limited audiences, showing that hearing reports differs from direct witnessing.
- The Qur'an is the enduring miracle available to every generation through its language, preservation, prophecies, and coherent arrangement.
- Surahs al-Duha, al-Inshirah, and al-Tin present connected guidance about reassurance, hardship, gratitude, human dignity, and righteous living.
- Listeners are urged to engage personally with the Qur'an, understand it, remember Allah's blessings, and act compassionately.
In the khateeb's words
“But there is one miracle that till today and for those who come after us, they will continue to benefit from it.”
“So for those who they are in need like this, they are orphans. Do not be harsh with them. Take care of them.”
“The Qur'an, my dear listeners, is not something which is a separate book, which it's just random chapters and random stories, just so that it can fill the pages.”
For the dinner table
Today's khutbah reminded us that Allah gave His messengers miracles to support the truth of their message. Although we did not personally witness many of those miracles, the Qur'an is still here for us to read, understand, and benefit from. The khateeb highlighted how its verses and neighboring chapters connect in a continuous message. He described Allah's reassurance to the Prophet, reminders of the blessings he had received, and the teaching that hardship comes with ease. Those reminders also call us to be gentle with orphans and people asking for help, remember our blessings, and turn to Allah. The khateeb encouraged every one of us to make time for the Qur'an and receive it as a message meant for us too.
- What blessing are you grateful for today, and how could you use it to help someone?
- What could you say or do to make someone asking for help feel respected?
- What would you like us to explore together when we next read the Qur'an?
