For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah taught that iman is more than saying we believe; it should appear in how we live. Remembering Allah’s names, especially Al-Hafidh, the Protector, can give us courage and hope when frightening things happen. The khateeb honored Amin, Nadir, and Abu al-Izz, whose sacrifice protected children, and asked us to stand with their families and the San Diego community. We should support one another, prepare our masajid, report suspicious activity instead of confronting it, and trust Allah after doing our part. We can answer hate by building understanding, goodness, love, and unity.

  1. What does it mean for our faith to show in our actions?
  2. How can we help someone feel safe and supported after a tragedy?
  3. What should we do if we notice something suspicious?
