Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“To be united, we must all focus on the same vision.”
“When you injure a person with scripture, there's no other injury greater than that.”
“When He gives you this book, He gives you the Quran. You're obligated to read and make public what you are studying.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khateeb said Ramadan is a time to return to the Quran and the Prophet’s Sunnah and to build unity. He urged us to learn from the Prophet’s community in Medina, including its agreements with other faiths and its care for the poor. He reminded us that people have sometimes used scripture to wound others, so we must think carefully, study, and never repeat that harm. He also celebrated the knowledge and achievements of Muslim communities and asked us to teach our children, work on our faults, and keep growing. Finally, he asked us to be compassionate toward people suffering from war and to help where we can.
- What is one thing our family can learn from the Prophet’s example in Medina?
- What piece of Muslim history would you like to investigate and share?
- Who might need our compassion or help this week?
