Men and women share equal worth before Allah

“Men and women both come from the same origin, from the same source, from the same material.”

Today the khateeb reminded us that taqwa, being mindful of Allah and doing the right things for the right reasons, is what gives our prayers, fasts and charity real life. He told us that Allah looks at the sincerity of what we give more than its size, like Imam Ali's single ring and the Ahlul Bayt's simple barley bread, which Allah honored in the Quran. He also began a series of khutbahs about women in Islam, in honor of the two great ladies remembered in these months. He explained that, according to Islam, Allah created men and women from the same origin, at the same time and for the same purpose, so neither is better than the other as a human being. They may have different roles, but Allah rewards every believer's good deeds equally, whether male or female. In marriage, husband and wife are like clothing for each other, protecting, beautifying and caring for one another.

  3. What is one way everyone in our family can help and take care of each other more?
