Choose a mode of resistance: oppose wrong through action when able, speak against it when possible, or reject it inwardly and make du'a.
Participate in civic life, including voting, rather than disengaging.
Create or support after-school programs, provide lunches, and transport children to the mosque for faith and history education.

For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Allah’s light endures even when people try to suppress faith or erase history. He described families who kept their faith alive by teaching their children and reminding them where they came from. He encouraged us to remember that whatever our talents or ambitions, our first identity is as people who submit to Allah. He also asked each of us to find a way to help, whether through speaking up, teaching, providing meals, helping children get to lessons, or making du‘a. His message called us to stay firm in faith and take practical steps to make society better.
