The khateeb reminded us that life in this world is brief and constantly changing, while the Hereafter is lasting. He taught that wealth, family, entertainment, and comfort are blessings to use, but they should not own our hearts. We can keep Allah at the center through prayer, Quran, good deeds, remembrance, and preparing for death. He encouraged us to stay close to good people and regularly examine ourselves. The goal is not to abandon the world, but to hold it lightly and place our hopes in Allah.
