Allah does not need our worship; we need Him, and worship is our responsibility and a path to our own good. The khateeb urged parents to answer children’s questions carefully, teaching that Allah is not like a human authority who needs obedience. After a person becomes accountable, or mukallaf, they are responsible for listening to Allah and obeying, even when they do not understand every reason behind a ruling. The sermon also reminded families about the recommended Ashura fast and its connection to forgiveness. A good family takeaway is to combine sound belief, patient teaching, and practical obedience.

  1. What does it mean that Allah does not need our worship?
  2. What is one command we can obey even when we do not know every reason?
  3. How might our family prepare for the Ashura fast?
