For the dinner table

Allah has given us many blessings, but we often notice what is missing more than what is present. The greatest blessing is guidance, and we should ask Allah to keep our hearts firm rather than assuming our faith is secure. We protect that blessing by following the Qur'an and the Prophet's example, turning away from sin, and keeping up daily Qur'an, prayer, du'a, and remembrance. Even small acts of gratitude can renew hope and patience. The khutbah closes with prayers for steadfast hearts and for people suffering in Gaza, Palestine, Sudan, Yemen, and elsewhere.

  1. What is one blessing you usually forget to notice?
  2. Which daily worship habit helps you feel close to Allah?
  3. What can you do when you are tempted to call a small sin harmless?
