For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that time is a precious gift from Allah, and we should think carefully about how we use it. He encouraged us to use our life, health, free time, youth, and wealth for good while we have them. We can help others through our time and knowledge as well as our money, and young people have meaningful contributions to make. As Ramadan approaches, he asked us to pray on time, slow down, reduce distractions, and understand what we are saying so prayer becomes a chance to reconnect with Allah. He also reminded us to make time for our families and good friends, and to take opportunities to do good today.

  1. What is one good thing you could do with a little of your free time tomorrow?
  2. What could help you feel calmer and more focused when you pray?
  3. How could our family make more time to listen to one another this week?
