Plan your growth and act on it

Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“Every action we have to take, we have to have an intent and say, inshallah”
“plan big, but take a smaller step in pursuing your goal.”
“Do learn your religion so you can practice it better. Do help those who cannot help themselves.”
“Don't waste time in regretting your mistake. Act to improve those. Whatever happened in the past is past.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khutbah encouraged us to begin the year with thoughtful plans and sincere intentions. We were reminded to grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and personally. Big goals are worthwhile, but they should be divided into small steps that we can actually complete. We should begin our efforts in Allah’s name, remain grateful, help others, and fulfill our responsibilities. Instead of regretting the past, we should learn from it and take action toward improvement.
- What is one small step toward a goal you would like to take this week?
- Which area of growth, spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, or personal, would help our family most?
- How can we turn a past mistake into a better choice next time?
