Carry Ramadan's worship into every month
“Nobody is going to enter Jannah just because of his actions.”
Allah loves consistent, even small, acts of worship, so Muslims should carry Ramadan's spiritual habits into the rest of the year while relying on Allah's mercy.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- Opening praise, supplication, and a hadith about praising Allah
- Carry Ramadan's spirituality forward by closing gaps and coming closer
- Allah's mercy, not deeds alone, grants entry into Jannah
- Maintain small, consistent acts such as prayer, charity, Quran, and good character
- Prepare for the Hereafter by avoiding haram and choosing halal
- Set incremental goals by dropping bad habits and adding good deeds each Ramadan
In the khateeb's words
“Know that nobody is going to enter Jannah just because of his actions. Now this is a very very powerful reminder that at the end of the day everything depends on the mercy of Allah .”
“How do you prepare? By being cautious. By taking caution. by not doing what's haram, by doing what's halal.”
“Make it your goal that you continue. And each Ramadan, make it a goal that you know what? This Ramadan, maybe two, three habits, bad deeds I left, I'm going to continue leaving those bad habits.”
For the dinner table
Ramadan teaches us what it feels like to draw close to Allah through prayer, fasting, generosity, and better character. The khateeb reminded us that Allah loves deeds that continue, even when they are small, so we should carry one or two Ramadan habits into the rest of the year. We should prepare for the Hereafter with the same care we use to prepare for a journey: avoid what is haram, do what is halal, and keep returning to Allah. Our actions matter, but entry into Jannah ultimately depends on Allah's mercy, so we ask Him for help and keep trying.
- Which Ramadan habit would you like to keep doing this week?
- What is one small good deed you could repeat tomorrow?
- What does preparing for the Hereafter look like in everyday choices?
