The khutbah teaches us to live with awareness of Allah and prepare our deeds for the Hereafter. We should regularly review our day, thank Allah for what went well, and make a plan to correct what did not. Everyday responsibilities can become worship when we do them correctly and with sincere intention. Blessings are tests that call for gratitude, while hardships are tests that call for patience. In difficult moments, we can ask what would please Allah and follow the Prophet’s example.
