For the dinner table

Today’s lesson is that gratitude is more than saying “Alhamdulillah.” It means recognizing Allah’s gifts in the heart and using our health, wealth, skills, senses, and time for good. Prophet Sulaiman showed gratitude in ease, while Prophet Ayyub showed it through patience in hardship, and the Prophet Muhammad showed it through long night prayers. We can practice by naming three blessings each night, sharing gratitude at the dinner table, helping someone in need, and thanking Allah for what we already have when we make dua.

  1. Which blessing did you notice today, and how could you use it to help someone?
  2. How can our family turn gratitude into an action this week?
  3. What could you thank Allah for before asking for something new?
