For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that our life is an opportunity to worship Allah and do good, and we should not keep putting those things off. The khateeb described people who will wish they could return to this world and change their choices when it is too late. He compared life to a journey: we are travelers, and what we do here matters for our destination. Remembering a young friend who died, he encouraged us to use the time and health we have today. He also warned against becoming proud of our good deeds and prayed that Allah would guide us, bless our time, and keep us firm in faith.

  1. What could help us put our phones down when it is time for Quran or prayer?
  2. How can we encourage each other to do good without showing off?
