For the dinner table

Imam Abdul-Hafiz reminded us that Allah’s guidance should shape our actions, not simply reach our ears. He asked us to look honestly at ourselves, turn to prayer and patience during difficulties, and avoid taking our pain out on other people. A caring community needs humility, respect for differences in Islamic practice, and patience with children and people who are learning. He encouraged us to help those who are struggling without waiting to be asked or seeking thanks. He also reminded us that Allah is forgiving and merciful, and that we can mend hurt feelings and show younger generations how to care for one another.
