For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that Jumu'ah and the ability to worship Allah are gifts we can easily take for granted. Prayer, fasting, and reading the Quran should help us grow, including becoming kinder in how we speak and treat others. We still need to fulfill our obligations, but worship deserves our attention and sincerity as well as our time. Through the story of a man who shared his bread when he needed it himself, the khateeb highlighted the value of a sincere act of generosity. He encouraged us to prepare for the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, including fasting on Arafah for those able, while remembering that we seek Allah's pleasure and forgiveness.
