Build your life around prayer
“The utmost important thing in our life is being able to drive our intention only for the sake of Allah.”
A blessed life and a good ending come from sincere, consistent worship and stewarding Allah-given time through prayer, family ties, gratitude, remembrance, and righteous company.
The khutbah in 6 steps
- The first khutbah begins with gratitude, taqwa, and reflection on pursuing husnul khatimah, while remembering victims in San Diego.
- It presents sincerity, matching deeds to words, steadfastness, dua, and good expectations of Allah as pathways to a good ending.
- It urges listeners to center their schedules around Salah and live consistently upon righteous actions.
- The second khutbah turns to barakah in time, linking modern busyness and distraction with weakened worship and increased corruption.
- It defines blessed time as doing more good with less time and recommends early mornings, avoiding sin and drama, family ties, gratitude, service, Quran, dhikr, and righteous company.
- The khutbahs close with prayers and brief announcements about classes, children’s programs, and community facilities.
In the khateeb's words
“the utmost important thing in our life is being able to drive our intention only for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala”
“The technical definition Is to be able To do more With less”
For the dinner table
Today's two khutbahs reminded us to live with purpose and use the time Allah gives us well. The first khateeb connected striving for a beautiful ending to sincerity, good actions, steady habits, dua, and hopeful thoughts of Allah. He encouraged us to make prayer central to our schedules and let our actions match our words. The second khateeb explained that barakah in time is about doing things well, not simply doing more. He encouraged early starts, avoiding sins and unnecessary drama, caring for family, volunteering, reading Quran, remembering Allah, and keeping good company. Together, we can choose a small, sincere habit that brings these reminders into our everyday lives.
- What could help us plan our day around prayer?
- Which relative could we make time for this week, and what could we do together?
- How could you use one of your talents to help someone?
