For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that every person has an appointment with death, although only Allah knows when it will come. Just as we prepare for important events in our lives, we should prepare to meet Allah through the choices we make each day. The khateeb encouraged remembering death and visiting graveyards as reminders of the life to come. He explained that remembering death should help us improve our actions and draw closer to Allah, while living with both hope and fear. Another day is an opportunity to repent, let go of grudges, and do good instead of putting it off. He reminded us that death is the beginning of what follows this life, and true success is being saved from the Fire and admitted into Jannah.
